This advisory is provided as a courtesy.
We want to bring to your attention another newly discovered vulnerability affecting major Linux OS distributions. The vulnerability, known as "Dirty Frag", has been assigned CVE numbers: CVE-2026-43284 and CVE-2026-43500, and affecting most, if not all, Linux distribution going back several years.
Affected Software
Most major Linux distributions such as Ubuntu (certain releases) and AlmaLinux are affected.
How to Fix the Problem
Update to the latest kernel version depending on the Linux OS.
On Ubuntu systems:
apt update
apt upgrade
apt dist-upgrade (to install all patches)
On AlmaLinux systems:
dnf clean all
dnf update kernel -y
Note: The patches might not be available for older distributions and operating systems that are already EOL (end-of-life) and no longer supported, such as CentOS systems. For this one, you need to upgrade to supported operating systems.
For users of Linux-based hosting control panel such as cPanel and Plesk, please also update your WHM/cPanel and Plesk to the latest version to fix this vulnerability.
